La gobernadora Mara Lezama Espinosa, y la defensora de los ecosistemas marinos y l\u00edder en la protecci\u00f3n de los tiburones, Cecilia Guti\u00e9rrez Navarro, unieron esfuerzos para concientizar a las personas sobre la importancia de proteger la fauna marina, especialmente a los tiburones, los verdaderos Guardianes del oc\u00e9ano desde hace m\u00e1s de 400 millones de a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La gobernadora Mara Lezama Espinosa reiter\u00f3 que en este gobierno humanista con coraz\u00f3n feminista, se trabaja para proteger la vida en todas sus formas y generar conciencia sobre su fragilidad, dentro del Nuevo Acuerdo por el Bienestar y Desarrollo de Quintana Roo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mara Lezama destac\u00f3 que Quintana Roo es uno de los lugares m\u00e1s hermosos del mundo y el \u00fanico destino en M\u00e9xico donde se puede bucear con el tibur\u00f3n toro en su entorno natural. Esta actividad, regulada y responsable, impulsa el ecoturismo y fomenta la conservaci\u00f3n. Cuidar nuestra fauna marina no es una opci\u00f3n, es una responsabilidad compartida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Por su parte, Cecilia Guti\u00e9rrez, galardonada con la Medalla al M\u00e9rito de Protecci\u00f3n Ecol\u00f3gica \u201cRam\u00f3n Bravo Prieto\u201d por el Congreso del Estado, detall\u00f3 que los tiburones son especies sombrilla, lo que significa que, al protegerlos, cuidamos todo el ecosistema marino. Son depredadores tope en la cadena alimenticia, y son esenciales para mantener el equilibrio de arrecifes, corales y pastos marinos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afirm\u00f3 que su presencia no representa una amenaza. La ciencia demuestra que los encuentros con humanos son muy escasos. El mito del tibur\u00f3n peligroso viene m\u00e1s del cine que de la realidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afirm\u00f3 que, lamentablemente, cada a\u00f1o millones de tiburones son asesinados por la pesca industrial y el comercio de aletas. \u201cEsto no solo destruye vida marina, tambi\u00e9n pone en riesgo la salud de los oc\u00e9anos y nuestro futuro, ya que son los encargados de regular las poblaciones de otras especies, manteniendo la diversidad y evitando la sobrepoblaci\u00f3n\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mara Lezama enfatiz\u00f3 que gracias a personas como Ceci, que han hecho de la protecci\u00f3n ecol\u00f3gica una causa de vida, con proyectos como Baalche Proyecto Azul y La Escuelita del Tibur\u00f3n, hoy se transforma la percepci\u00f3n de estas especies a trav\u00e9s de la ciencia, la educaci\u00f3n y el compromiso comunitario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Por lo que hicieron un llamado a la ciudadan\u00eda para proteger y tomar acciones para preservar nuestra fauna marina, reiterando que la presencia de tiburones no representa una amenaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
